How to Ask for a Sign

Asking for a sign can be helpful. A sign can give you reassurance that you are making the right choice, help you with direction, and can give you peace of mind. I ask for them frequently. In fact, I just asked for one last week, it's pictured below along with some other signs that came with it. If you’ve ever been curious about how to ask for a sign or how to receive it, I’ve got all the details below.

Asking for a Sign

You can ask for a sign through thoughts or prayers. You can always cater the

process to what feels comfortable for you. An example through prayer would be “Dear (Insert whom/what you pray to here) please give me a sign if I should take this direction. Thank you for your guidance.” If prayer isn’t your thing then you can just say to yourself: “I need a sign that this is going to work out, please show me a sign. Thanks.” Yes, you should still say thank you to yourself! Y’all know I am all about gratitude.

Pick the Sign

After you ask for a sign or while you’re asking for one, think of what your sign will be. Don’t overthink it, just pick the first thing that comes to mind. It could be a song, numbers, words, pennies, smells, feathers, animals, etc. Whenever I need confirmation, a fox shows up. Once, I asked for a sign and just a few minutes after asking I saw a billboard on the side of the road that said: “if you’re looking for a sign, this is it.” I’ve even had friends text me out of the blue with some insightful words, without knowing the situation, sometimes they just get a “feeling” they should text me. Signs are always unique to the person asking for it, and they can change all the time. After you’ve asked for and picked your sign the next part is crucial:

Let it the eff go

I mean it. Let it go, be patient and trust that your sign is on the way to you. Trust that yourself, the Universe, God or whatever will provide you with your sign. There’s no timeline for when it will show up, and if it does not show up that is a sign too. Your sign not coming is just proof that something better is in store for you instead of what you have planned.

Be Open to Receive the Sign

Ever try to show someone something and they aren’t paying attention? That can be us with signs. We’ll be so caught up in something else or worse, we’ll brush it off as a coincidence. Allow yourself to receive the sign. Be open minded. When it shows up, however it shows up, it was NOT a coincidence. It was meant for you.

Try it!

For practice, ask for a sign today. It doesn’t have to be in regards to making a choice. This is going to be for fun. Ask to see a feather, or hear something, or whatever you want. Ask for it. After you ask for it, let it go and be open to receiving it. This makes great practice and helps you be more receptive. I hope you have fun with it!
